About

"Internation" is a group of young coaches in the USA Hockey Mentor Program. Last year's class of 2015 was the first to nickname the group-and will go down as the most energetic and creative interns to date!

The USA Hockey Mentor program started under the direction Michele Amidon the then Women's Hockey Director in 2010. Digit Murphy developed and implemented the program and has continued to tweek the curriculum for the intern coaches. This program has been a mainstay at the USA Hockey Women's National Development Camps and is intended for aspiring coaches seeking professional development. Practice planning, game strategy, developing a coaching philosophy, leadership, building a team culture, X’s and O’s, etc. are part of the program. It is also an opportunity to network with top coaches from NCAA Division I, III, and club programs, as well as USA Hockey’s Women’s Under-18 Coaching Staff, Women’s National Team Staff, and Regional ADM (American Development Model) Managers.

What the interns are saying about the Mentor Program and Digit Murphy:

"I've been reflecting on my last three years of coaching and I want to say thank you for all the advice and wisdom you have shared with me. That one week in your intern camp has helped my coaching take off."-Ed Bourget BBN Girls Hockey Coach

I really don't think I would have had the confidence to step into a head coaching position without the internship at NDP.-Krystyn Elek Winsor School Girls Hockey Coach
