How it all Started....

​

The FREE Hockey concept started as a development tool to teach girls decision making on the ice. It morphed into a methodology to teach girls. Designed by Digit Murphy a thought leader in women's empowerment and coaching education and USA Hockey Mentor coach.  In the FREE Hockey system, we teach players to be fearless decision makers. Our all development and no yell philospohy makes hockey fun and takes the negitivity out of the game. We also believe in female specific coaching, female specific off ice training, and female specific drills that encourage up tempo practices and positive results.

 

In conjunction with our non profit 5013c partner, Play It Forward Sport, our instructors will be trained in the FREE Hockey model. Our coaches will be high level athletes that the players will look up to as leaders and role models. Our educational model teaches players to be competitive in a fun and educational environment Development is the priority while we encourage equal playing time and NOT a win at all costs philosophy.
